So a solution that worked for me was to right-click on the desktop and select 'Intel HD graphics control panel', select the desired resolution, ensure the 'scale full screen' is ticked and ensure that the 'Override application settings' is ticked as well. Unfortunately for some laptops (like my one), Nvidia control panel for some reason, does not have a display category as an option, and after a bit of research here and there, it seems that option was not added on purpose to laptops with the Nvidia graphics card and the Intel thing, iirc. I do not expect the setting to affect widescreen capable programs that supports the monitors native resolution.Д«umping an old thread, but I do believe I have something to contribute regarding what PCDania mentioned about black bars. The changed setting will likely affect all non-widescreen supporting games leading to black bars. It will lead to black bars to the right and left of the game but it will not be stretched. There is also a setting named 'Use Nvidia scaling' but it's not that one but the other. I'm translating from Danish so it might be worded a bit different. Select 'Use Nvidia scaling with fixed dimensions' Under 'Display', select 'Adjust desktop size and position'. In the 'Nvidia Control Panel' click the + at 'Display'. You can also find a link to the 'Nvidia Control Panel' in 'Windows Control Panel'. Unless you have changed the settings for getting access to the Nvidia Control Panel, right click empty space on the desktop, then select 'Nvidia Controlpanel'.

As the game does not support widescreen and thereby will get the graphics stretched, the best you can do is open the Nvidia Control Panel and change a setting there.
